Most garden solar lights come with Ni-Cd batteries. They are prefered to Ni-Mh as they can take a constant overcharging on long on hot summer days better than regular Ni-MH cells can. The problem with Ni-Cd (Nickel Cadmium) is that cadmium is toxic to the environment so Ni-Cd batteries are being phased out and hard to come by.
Ansmann have developed these batteries especially for outdoor solar garden lights. They are much lower in capacity than the latest high capacity Ni-MH cells but high capacity is not really needed as they only run overnight and are recharged during the next day.
These batteries have be designed to withstand overcharging from the sun on long hot summer days and are also anti corrosive and frost resistant for outdoor use.
Package includes 2 x AA Cells.
